Derby County have been linked with a bid for the Premier League forward this summer. DCFC has until the transfer window closes on Monday, September 1st, to complete any incoming or leaving business.

Gordon, 20, is on the Rams’ radar at the moment along with fellow Championship side Swansea City, according to The Athletic. He was handed a new contract by Liverpool in 2024.

According to EFL Analysis, journalist Bailey has offered the following information on the player: “There are so many teams interested in this boy.” He has kind of fallen behind Rio Ngumoha at Liverpool. He was a greater name before, but Ngumoha now has a legitimate shot at making the first team. But Gordon now has his pick of Championship clubs. Derby and Swansea are among them, but half of the Championship is interested in him. The player, and Liverpool, are just assessing their options now to find the best fit. It would definitely be a loan move. There are very few clubs in the Championship who could afford to tempt him there permanently.”

Gordon might help Derby County’s attacking lineup. If he joined DCFC, he would add more competition and depth to the wing.

He likes to cut in with his left foot from the right flank. The youngster has to gain regular game experience in the Football League.

Liverpool signed him from the Rams back in 2021. He has since made seven first-team appearances for the Reds and has also been loaned out to Norwich City and Portsmouth to gain experience.

If Derby County were to sign Gordon, they must first defeat other teams such as Swansea City. As Bailey mentioned, other clubs are vying for the DCFC target.

The Rams have had a difficult start this season under John Eustace. They lost their first two league games in a row to Stoke City and Coventry City.

They’ve conceded eight goals in two games and need to tighten up at the back. Next up is a home game against Bristol City on Friday night, as they look for their first win.

In the meanwhile, Derby County has the opportunity to sign more players. They also have the option to let certain people go if necessary.
